 In this day and age it's hard to imagine different record labels cooperating on a project such as 1972's "Duane Allman - An Anthology".  By our count, there are no less than 14 separate acts represented on this set.  Moreover, musically you'd be hard pressed to come up with a more impressive retrospective ...  blues, hard rock, pop, soul - it's all represented on this double album, 19 track compilation.  Hard to imagine a guitarist talented enough to hold his own in such diverse company !!!  To be honest, it's hard to decide what the highlights are.  There's plenty of popular stuff here (Derek & the Dominos' "Layla", Wilson Pickett's "Hey Jude"), so we'll go with some of the more obscure cuts ...  "Goin' Down Slow" from Allman's planned solo album, soulster Johnny Jenkins' two cuts ("Rolling Stone" and "Down Along the Cove") and side four showcasing a series of Allman Brothers Band tracks.  A must own for guitar fans ...
