Try finding something about this one on the web ... be prepared to scan through pages and pages of Allman Brothers "Brothers and Sisters" sites ...   Anyhow here's another tax dodge mystery - one of three releases on the Morris Levy Western Hemisphere label (you can see write-ups on the other two elsewhere on my website).

Released in 1976, "Brothers and Sisters" was produced by Larry Rush who also wrote about half the material and handled lead vocals on two of the ten tracks.  The rest of the line up was given as vocalists Arthur Brown, Charles Colins, Tony Garcia, Ben Gerardi, and Tyrone Kinlaw.  Fantasy Street which I'm guessing was a female backing group provided backing vocals.  Musically this was best described as lightweight highly orchestrated Associations-styled pop.  All six singers were pretty good, with Arthur Braun having the best voice of the group.  Interestingly the combination of six lead singers and the absence of any real 'group' feel to these ten songs has always left me wondering if this set was simply cobbled together from demos and miscellaneous solo performances.  Anyone out there know?  Regardless, tracks like 'She's the Woman', 'Woman In My Life' and 'One and 'One Are One' were tuneful and never less than pleasant.  Unfortunately that was about as good as it got.  Imagine a Bread album full of David Gates ballads and none of James Griffin's rockers and you'd have a feel for the general sound.  Best of the lot simply due to the fact they showed a little more energy than the others were the country-flavored 'Be Mine Only' (for some reason the liner notes didn't provide the singer for this one) and the top-40-ish ' I'm Always Happy'.
