I've always been amazed by the number of great bands that Scotland produces.  The problem with most of these outfits, is that nobody outside of Scotland ever hears them before they break up.

Released in 1984, "Sisters" served as a mixture of previously released tracks and new studio material.  In a perfect example of corporate recycling, 'The Patriot's Game', 'Cath' and 'Everybody's Somebody's Fool' are all found on the band's self-titled 1983 debut EP, which in turn recycled earlier singles.  Since the original singles and the earlier EP are tough to find, it probably doesn't make much difference anyway ...  With guitarist/front man Robert Hodgens writing most of the material and Kenneth McCluskey handling the vocals,  these guys managed to debut with one of the year's most impressive pop sets.  Material such as 'Young At Heart' (co-written by Hodgens and then-girlfriend/Bananarama singer Siobhan Fahey, 'The Patriot's Game' and 'Will She Always Be Waiting' sported the kind of top-40 melodies most band's can only dream about.  No hyperbole intended, but virtually every one of these ten songs would have made a dandy top-10 single.  Best of the lot, the blazing anti-Falklands rocker 'South Atlantic Way'.
