I'd never heard of the Soul Parade label when I found this set at a yard sale.  Turns out that it was a subsidiary of the infamous Pickwick Records (which made sense given the throwaway artwork and the absence of liner notes).

In spite of the absence of biographical information (the album doesn't even provide writing credits), "Screamin' Blues" is probably all casual, or curious fans need.  Most of the man's biggest hits are here and these nine tracks serve as the perfect introduction for his spellbinding voice and slide guitar ...  yes this is what Duane Allman, Eric Clapton and countless others aspired to!
