This may be the most obscure item in our collection ...  A mid 1960s, interracial garage band outfit!  There can't be more than a couple of hundred copies of this mid-1960s slice of garage rock and it's doubtful that anyone outside of hardcore collectors have ever heard of them.

According to the liner notes on their 1967 LP "Meet the Mysterians",

Lorraine, Louie and Sidney Poolheco were native Americans "raised in a beautiful little Hopi village".  Also taken from the liner notes - "Bob, Louie, Sidney and Lorraine are original members of The Mysterians.  The band was formed five years ago in Winslow, Arizona.  Sidney is the leader.  He plays rhythm guitar and sings.  He likes to play Western music best.  Louie plays lead and bass guitar and sings. He thinks every band should produce its own kind of sound and this he tries to develop in his band.  Lorraine loves to sing.  She has appeared on many talent shows and has given several recitals. She often wins top  honors as a singer with genuine appeal.  Bob plays tenor sax and sings. He is definitely tops in both departments.  Bob is a senior at Northern Arizona University where he is loved and admired by all who know him.  Jim plays drums and writes music.  He hopes to be a noted author some day ... with his talent he should succeed.  Jack plays lead and bass guitar.  He loves jazz and has been able to sell his band on the idea of developing many progressive jazz numbers."

So what's this thing sound like?  Well, extremely raw and amateurish would be a good way to start.  Musically the set's a mix of popular hits and what appear to be a couple of originals (there aren't any writing credits on the LP).
