As a tax loss label Guinness seemed to release virtually anything they could get their corporate hands on. That made for a pretty eclectic catalog which bounced all over the musical spectrum including slices of MOR pop like this one.
Produced by Don R. Smith "Your Love Is a Very Special Thing To Me" showcased material penned by Phil Stevens (one track credited to Jannie James). Namesake Stevens certainly had a decent voice and he brought at least a degree of enthusiasm to the proceedings. Unfortunately, as you probably guessed given the album title, most of the ten songs were banal, over-orchestrated pop that occasionally sounded like something Tom Jones, or a Las Vegas nightclub performer might had recorded. Tracks like 'What's In a Morning', 'Love Your Man' and 'House with No Love There' were too bland to even cut it as background music. Was there anything with redeeming value on this album? Nope. Even the anonymous cover model was skanky. Okay, okay the cheesy synthesizer in the title track was funny. There aren't a lot of albums that I give a one star rating to, but here's one of 'em.
